The chicken restaurant is still America’s top dog – or chicken.
I can’t get no satisfaction
The American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) measures how satisfied American consumers are with fast food restaurants. And for the eighth year in a row, Chick-fil-A has kept its place at the top of the food chain.
It’s come in with a score of 83, which is the same as last year’s, but considering that satisfaction with food chains has dropped since the last index was taken, that’s actually quite impressive. The rest of their competitors all score a respectable 79 or lower, so for now, Chick-fil-A only needs to carry on doing what it’s doing.
The rest of the pack
One of the biggest surprises is how one-time former champion and groundbreaker of the fast food sector, McDonalds, has fallen from grace. It’s actually ranked bottom of the satisfaction index these days. That doesn’t mean it’s not popular, but it is definitely a worrying sign that Americans seem to prefer getting their fix elsewhere.
So, for now it’s back to the drawing board for the would-be fast food champions. Chick-fil-A is running away with things, leaving them to wonder how they can dethrone the MVP.
